Dying light volatile hunter weapong7/13/2023 ![]() ![]() Knives are bad for self-defense because they don't stagger enemies(except goons for some reason) and are really short. They're too slow to be used against viral swarms, can't kill tanky zombies easily(on nightmare ng+ story 70%+) and have far worse DPS than properly upgraded knives(which are also better against goons, stunned demolishers, nests and aggressive hunters). The Kuai is meant for parkour boost, not for fighting.Įach weapon has different stats: damage, swing speed, length, upgrade compatiblity, poise-break etc.īig axes are bad because they do like 15-20%(5.5K machetes vs 6.5K bigaxes) more damage but are 60-70% slower and leave you open for 2 seconds between swings(43 max speed with 3 kings) which is not good. The Kuai Dagger is a bad fighting knife because it can't do more than 30% of the dmg of a Tribal knife and they have the same durability and speed. Some like small knives like a kuai dagger since its quick and can do lots of damage in small hits and others like a giant axe which does massive damage in one sweep Its what you think is best and suits you. Optional? For some veteran players who know how to manage their weapon and item supply and already have a ton of stuff in their stash, I would say definitely yes.Originally posted by Lar Dass:There is no best or worse weapon. After 176 hours into this game, I have so much stuff that I probably don't need to craft these melee weapons, unless I want to throw them at the Night Hunter without the fear of losing them.Īre they useless? Not necessarily. Maybe the new players may find these weapons useful on Normal difficulty, especially for those who want stronger weapons from the get-go and do not have the delayed gratification of finding the blueprints in the world to make better weapons.īut for veteran players since this game's release, these DLC Volatile weapons blueprints may seem under-powered by mods that already exist, and as a veteran myself I would consider these DLC blueprints as secondary options and not mandatory unless my supplies are really low. I know it's not like the blueprints that you find in the world that need a specific weapon as a component to craft. I believe it's because those melee weapons require less components to craft, and-tell me if I am crazy-at one time I ended up crafting a Volatile Sword weapon with a two-handed weapon that did not even resemble a sword at first.
